What They Didn’t See in Me

What They Didn’t See in Me

What They Didn’t See in Me
Paired Journal: Still I Teach: A Journal of Resilience, Calling, and Classroom Grace

They saw a teacher. But they didn’t see the woman praying in her car before class.
They didn’t see the tears in the break room.
The nights spent grading papers through heartbreak.
The times I swallowed grief just to keep the day moving.

They didn’t see how I held space for kids who’d never been held.
How I advocated for voices never heard.
How I fought battles behind the scenes, stayed late, stayed kind, stayed faithful.

But God saw.

Still I teach.
Still I pour.
Still I carry the call even when the weight is heavy.

This journal was born from every “you’re just a teacher” moment — when they dismissed the power of what I do, what we do, what so many of us carry.

📓 Still I Teach is for the educator-warrior, the soul-builder, the kingdom sower.
For the ones doing ministry with markers and morning meetings.

You are seen. You are valued. And you are still rising.
